Mad ramblings....

After being lulled into a false sense of 'summer', we are once again layered up and battling cold winds and rain.  Last week, we were at the beach....twice!  This week, it feels like late March.

Heath and I are getting ready for a family photo session with Brian, Michelle and Nolan on Saturday.  We are going to scout out some locations on Friday.  We're thinking a field, old barn shots, some 'urban' shots near the new bridge to Riverview (lots of stone, iron railings, etc).  I am still getting used to settings on my camera so they have been warned that the end product will be a possible gamble...but they're willing.  They want some family pics before the new little one makes her appearance in July.

Heath and I have been coming up with names for our joint-venture.  We do photography together, get called in for 'decor' consultations, singing for events, etc.  Since we seem to be a package deal, we figure we should create a little company for the possible day that we might actually make some income from these things.  I thought up ''Double Exposure" but I think that may infer some services we do not include in our list of offerings (grin...wish I could include one of those cheeky little emoticons but haven't figured out how to do that yet).  I think Heath has come up with the winner so I'll let you know once we have made the final decision.

Here are a few sunny and warm shots from last week...or, as I like to call it, summer!!

I call Heath my little teenager...she madly texts with her roomies (all late teens, early twenties)

Lots of beach glass finds.

Springing up

Spring is gradually making itself known in our end of the world.  I say 'gradually' because we have one really nice day and then several rainy and cold.  Teaching is slowing down as we finish up schools for the year.  Two schools finished last week and my other two schools will be finished within a couple of weeks.  I have started my to-do list of all of the things that need to be fixed, cleaned, etc since I haven't made any progress on things in the last five months due to all of my 'irons in the fire'.  There is a lot of work to be done at the office (painting, cleaning, repairs) as well as another long list at home.  We should be able to knock these all off the list over the next 3 months or so!

I have been trying to make time for fun with friends as I definitely have been out of the loop for the last while.  Grabbed breakfast at Cora's with Heather, Rebecca and Michelle (plus her baby on board).

Then I took Nolan to the park for a good long walk on one of our recent nice days.  I always want to practice settings on my new camera but I think the cat is tired of me chasing him around the house madly snapping pictures.  So I was happy to have a new subject for my guinea pig.  He is such an awesome little man and we had a great time walking the trails, feeding the ducks and exploring nature.  He made a fantastic model.  I think Michelle takes a lot of pictures of him so he is used to the camera being pointed in his direction.  Cutie!!
